Many people have a misconception that the more detergent you add to a large load, the cleaner your clothes will be. “Typically it’s one ounce per average size load, but feel free to pour in an extra half ounce for those slightly smellier, dirtier loads. However, if you’re using a high-efficiency washer, you can use even less than an ounce,” recommends Ryan.
