Shake it up with these delicious margarita recipes for National Margarita Day

National Margarita Day, which is on February 22, is a special day when you can honor the popular and delicious cocktail. If you’re looking to join in on the celebration, it’s hard to go wrong with a classic marg on the rocks. If you enjoy a little bit of heat in your cocktails, consider a spicy margarita. If you want to add a fruity twist to the traditional drink, try making a Strawberry Margarita by blending tequila, fresh or frozen strawberries, and lime juice together. High Roller Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Tequila Cazadores Extra Añejo
  • ¾ oz Grand Marnier
  • ¾ oz agave nectar
  • 3 wedges lime
  • 3 wedges lemon
  • 1 wedge orange

Preparation:

  1. In a cocktail shaker muddle limes, lemons and orange.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients with ice, shake and serve up in a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with lime and orange peel.

1862 Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila Cazadores Blanco
  • 1/2 oz ST-GERMAIN elderflower liqueur
  • 1/2 oz agave nectar
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice

Preparation: 

  1. Combine all the ingredients with ice.
  2. Shake and serve over the rocks in a 12 oz. bucket glass.
  3. Garnish with lime wheel.

Blackberry Basil Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Código 1530 Rosa Tequila
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • Blackberries
  • Basil Leaf

Preparation:

  1. Muddle blackberries in a Rocks glass.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice, add tequila, triple sec, lime juice and agave syrup.
  3. Shake and strain over ice and garnish with a blackberry and basil leaf.

Pineapple Lime Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Còdigo 1530 Blanco
  • 1 oz Fresh pineapple juice
  • .5 oz Lime juice
  • .25 oz Agave Nectar

Preparation:

  1. Shake everything over ice and pour into glass.
  2. Garnish with Pineapple and lime.

Flecha Azul Frozen Watermelon Flecharita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Flecha Azul Tequila Blanco
  • 1/2 oz Agave syrup
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 2 Dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 1-2 handfuls of watermelon cubes

Preparation:

  1. Add two handfuls of ice and watermelon cubes into a blender and blend until it’s a chunky texture – do not over blend.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and give one or 2 quick blends. Pour into a rocks glass and garnish with a watermelon wedge.

Dos Hombres Spicy Grapefruit

Ingredients:

  • 2oz. Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • 2 oz. Grapefruit Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Lime Juice
  • Chili Powder

Preparation:

  1. Pour 2 oz. of Dos Hombres Mezcal into a rocks glass with 2 oz. of grapefruit juice.
  2. Mix with 3/4 oz. of lime.
  3. Add a dash of chili powder and shake. Enjoy! 

St. George Spiced Pear Margarita

Ingredients: 

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a tin with ice, then shake and strain over fresh ice into a glass half-rimmed with salted cinnamon sugar.
  2. Garnish with lime and/or a pear slice.

Perfect Pineapple Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
  • .5 oz Citrónge Orange Liqueur
  • 1 oz Pineapple juice
  • .5 oz Lime juice
  • Tajín rim
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake until combined and chilled.
  3. Strain into a Tajín-rimmed rocks glass filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Grand Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 part Grand Marnier® Cordon Rouge
  • 1 part Tequila
  • .5 part Fresh Lime Juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime Garnish

Preparation:

  1. Fill a wide, shallow dish with 2-3 mm of fine salt.
  2. Cut a lime in half at the width and rub around half of the rim of a margarita glass.
  3. Cut a thin, crosswise slice from one of the lime halves for garnish.
  4. Holding glass upside down, dip wet half delicately into the salt.
  5. Shake Grand Marnier, tequila and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker.
  6. Strain into glass and apply lime garnish to the rim.

 Cantera Margarita

Ingredients:

  1. 2oz Cantera Negra Silver
  2. 1oz lime
  3. .5oz agave syrup
  4. Orange bitters

Preparation:

  1. Shake and strain over ice in double rocks glass.
  2. Add 2 dashes of orange bitters giving a nice orange essence without any added sugar.

Espolòn Spicy Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Espolòn Blanco or Reposado
  • 0.5 oz Ancho Reyes® Verde or Original
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Agave syrup

Garnish:

  • Garnish with lime peel/wedge.

Preparation: 

  1. Shake all ingredients with plenty of ice and double strain into a coupette.

1800 Sage Margarita

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. 1800 Cristalino
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 3 fresh sage leaves
Preparation:
  1. Muddle sage leaves in triple sec in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add tequila, lime juice, and ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a chilled margarita glass with a salted rim and garnish with a sage leaf and lime wheel.

1800 Magenta Margarita

Ingredients:
  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Cristalino
  • 1 oz. prickly pear purée
  • ½ oz. lime juice
  • ½ oz. simple syrup
  • Garnish: Fresh Lime Wheels
Preparation:
  1. Combine 1800 Blanco, prickly pear purée, lime juice and simple syrup in mixing tin.
  2. Add ice and shake vigorously.
  3. Strain over fresh ice in a salt-rimmed rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with fresh lime wheels.

Daisy Margarita

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. Shake or stir
  2. Strain into a glass over ice, rimmed with rosemary salt
  3. Enjoy!

Dulce Vida Classic Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Dulce Vida Lime Tequila
  • 4 oz Sparkling Water
  • Big Squeeze of Fresh Lime

Preparation:

  1. Pour over ice in a tall glass.
  2. Stir and garnish with a lime.
