12 spooktacular recipes to recreate at your Halloween party

Halloween is only days away, and everyone knows the best way to celebrate this spooky holiday is by throwing an extravagant party. Skip the beer and make some boo-zy drinks that will put a spell on your guests (in a good way). Whether you and your guests prefer tequila or vodka, strong or fruity, there’s something in this list for everyone! So, if you’re trying to figure out what to serve at your Halloween party, here are a few options:

Pinche Picante

This recipe was created by mixologist Johann Grillitsh, bar manager of Bonito Saint Barth, for Betula Aspen.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Doña Vega mezcal infused with cilantro, jalapeños, and aji panca
  • 1/2 oz agave syrup
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice
  • 2 drops grapefruit biter
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro

Preparation:

  1. Add the ingredients and stir with a large ice cube.

Cantarito Familiar

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Tequila Cazadores Reposado
  • 1 part Orange Juice
  • 1 part Grapefruit Juice
  • ½ part Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 parts Grapefruit Soda
  • 1 spoon of salt

Preparation:

  1. Garnish with slices of orange, limes, grapefruit, and Tamarind candy 

Pomegranate Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Tequila Cazadores Blanco
  • ½ oz St-Germain
  • 2 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • Top with Grapefruit
  • Splash of lime juice
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Add ice to a high ball glass.
  2. Pour ingredients into high ball glass.
  3. Garnish with lime slice.

1800 Cranberry Orange Maple

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. 1800 Reposado
  • ¼ oz. maple syrup 
  • 1 bar spoon cherry compote
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • Orange oil 

Preparation:

  1. Muddle an orange peel in maple syrup in the bottom of a rocks glass.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and stir with a large ice cube.
  3. Garnish with an orange twist and star anise pod. 

Monster Melon Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts PATRÓN Silver
  • 1 parts  lime juice
  • 1 parts Melon liquor 
  • 4 parts ginger ale
  • Garnish with watermelon balls

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients except the ginger ale in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill.
  2. Strain onto fresh ice in a rocks glass and top with ginger ale. 
  3. Lightly stir to combine.
  4. To prepare as a punch combine all ingredients except ginger ale  in a punch bowl and place in the refrigerator.
  5. When ready to serve add ice and garnish and top with ginger ale.

Apothic Sour Pour Over

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle – Apothic Red
  • 2oz. Bourbon
  • 1oz. Lemon juice
  • 1oz. simple syrup
  • Lemon peel or Amarena dark cherries (optional garnishes)

Preparation:

  1. Combine 2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce lemon juice, and 1 ounce simple syrup into cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake until cold and strain into glass over rocks.
  3. Float ½ ounce Apothic Red over back of bar spoon onto the sour’s surface.
  4. Garnish with lemon peel and an Amarena dark cherry to really take it over the top.

NOLET’S Silver Corpse Reviver

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. NOLET’S Silver Gin
  • 1 oz. Lillet Blanc
  • 1 oz. Cointreau
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 dash of Absinthe
  • Orange Peel for Garnish

Preparation:

  1. Shake all ingredients together in an ice-filled shaker and strain into a Martini or coupe glass.
  2. Garnish with an orange peel.

1800 Allspice Mule

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Añejo 
  • ¾ oz. fresh lime juice
  • ¼ oz. Allspice dram
  • 3 oz. ginger beer

Preparation:

  1. Build in glass and stir gently with ice to combine.
  2. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wheel studded with cloves.

Hornitos Black Cauldron

Ingredients:

  • 1½ parts Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila
  • ¾ part fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ part agave syrup
  • ¼ part sage simple syrup
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
  • 1 capsule activated charcoal

Preparation:

  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine ingredients. 
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a coupe or martini glass and garnish with a lemon slice.

EFFEN Blood Orange Crush

Ingredients:

  • 1 Part EFFEN Blood Orange Vodka
  • 1 Medium-sized orange cut into halves
  • 1 part DeKuyper Triple Sec
  • Splash of Lemon Lime Soda

Preparation:

  1. Hand crush orange halves into glass of vodka.
  2. Fill glass with ice to the top and add the remaining ingredients – triple sec and lemon lime soda – to the glass.
  3. Garnish with an orange wedge.

Pinnacle Blood Moon Punch

 Ingredients:

  • 750mL bottle of Pinnacle Original Vodka
  • 2 cups DeKuyper Triple Sec
  • 2 cups Pineapple Juice
  • 2 cups Orange Juice
  • Sparkling Wine
  • Strawberry or Raspberry Puree

Preparation:

  1. Add vodka, triple sec pineapple juice and orange juice to a large bowl or pitcher and mix together.
  2. Top with sparkling wine and drizzle with a strawberry or raspberry puree as a garnish.

Whiskey Cider Smash

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Bespoken Bourbon
  • 2 oz. Apple Cider
  • 1-2 tsp. Maple Butter (for sweetness)
  • 1 oz. Lime juice
  • Cinnamon stick and apple slices for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Shake in cocktail shaker and serve over ice
