7 Cocktails to enjoy from the comfort of your home

Need an excuse to whip up a delicious cocktail at home today? Lucky for you, March 24 is National Cocktail Day, an event devoted to celebrating and raising a glass for your go-to drink. Although, we tend to think of our faves —ahem, margaritas and mojitos— there are delicious fruity cocktails that will bring you as much joy and flavor. With the warmer days around the corner, we thought it was fitting to share some of our favorite spring cocktails packed with fresh fruit and seasonal ingredients. Trust us, these easy-to-make cocktails will soon become your go-to beverage during springtime.

CÎROC CITRUS SUNRISE

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz CÎROC Summer Citrus
  • 3 oz Orange juice
  • 1 oz Cranberry juice or Pomegranate juice
  • Glass: Highball or Rocks 
  • Garnish: Orange Wedge

Preparation:

  1. Add the CÎROC Summer Citrus and orange juice into a highball or rocks glass filled with ice. 
  2. Top off with Cranberry juice or Pomegranate juice and garnish.

CHERRY LIMEADE Featuring Barefoot Pinot Grigio

Ingredients:

  • One 750 ml bottle of Barefoot Pinot Grigio 
  • 4 ounces cherry vodka
  • 8 ounces frozen limeade from concentrate
  • 1 lime sliced into thin wheels
  • 2 cups dark sweet frozen cherries (or 2 cups fresh cherries pitted and halved)
  • Ginger ale

Preparation:

  1. Fill a pitcher with Barefoot Pinot Grigio, vodka and limeade concentrate
  2. Stir and refrigerate until ready to serve
  3. Layer rocks glasses with cherries and ice, and pour any excess cherry juice into the glasses
  4. Pour wine mixture into each glass, and top with a splash of ginger ale

BLANCO COCO

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tequila Don Julio Blanco
  • 1 oz Vita Coco Coconut Water
  • 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice

Preparation:

  1. Combine Tequila Don Julio Blanco, Vita Coco Coconut Water, and fresh lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
  2. Strain contents into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel.

BUCHANAN’S SPRING FLING JULEP

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Buchanan’s Special Reserve
  • 1.5 oz Cantaloupe Juice
    • .5 cup cantaloupe melon chunks blended until smooth, then strained yields about 4 oz juice
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 8 mint leaves + 2 sprigs for garnish
  • Melon balls for garnish
  • Crushed ice
  • Glassware: Julep cup or small juice glass
  • Garnish: Melon balls

Preparation:

  1. Muddle mint and then .5 oz cantaloupe juice and sugar in the bottom of your cup.
  2. Add ice halfway up your cup then add 1 oz whisky and another .5 oz cantaloupe juice, stir until cup is chilled.
  3. Fill cup to overflowing with ice, and drizzle the remainder of the whisky, then cantaloupe juice over the top.
  4. Garnish with mint sprigs and melon balls.

SPICY JALAPEÑO X VOLLEY MARGARITA

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of Zesty Lime Volley Tequila Seltzer
  • 1 oz of Mezcal
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz pineapple juice
  • 5-6 slices of Green jalapeno. 
  • OPTIONAL: For extra spice, add a few dashes of tabasco.

Preparation:

  1. In a tin, muddle jalapenos with ½ oz of lime juice.
  2. Add ¾ oz of Pineapple juice, 1 oz of Mezcal, and one can of Zesty Lime Volley.
  3. Stir all ingredients and pour into a large glass over ice. Enjoy!

JOHNNIE WALKER LEMON HIGHBALL

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
  • 4.5oz Fever Tree Soda Water
  • 1 Lemon Wedge Squeezed
  • Glassware: Highball
  • Garnish: Lemon Wedge

Preparation:

  1. Combine ingredients in a highball glass over ice and stir.
  2. Garnish with a lemon peel.

HARPER SPRING THYME

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz I.W. Harper
  • .5 oz Peach Liqueur
  • .5 oz Lemon Juice
  • .5 Thyme Syrup
    • 12 Thyme Sprigs
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 cup water
  • Club Soda (to top off)
  • Glassware: Highball glass
  • Garnish: Thyme spring, peach slice

Preparation:

  1. Thyme Syrup
    • Boil water in a saucepan add thyme and sugar, stirring until dissolved.
    • Take off heat, and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Fine-strain into an airtight container (it can last up to a week, refrigerated).
  2. Final Cocktail
    • Combine all ingredients (except club soda) into a shaker tin, shake, and double-strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
    • Top with club soda.
