Celebrate National Margarita Day with these delicious cocktails

Even though it’s still winter, there’s a perfect excuse to indulge in some margaritas (not that you need one!!). Every February 22nd, we honor the infamous drink by celebrating National Margarita Day. Made with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, margaritas are a staple to have fun with friends.

We’re celebrate everyone’s favorite tequila cocktail by sharing sharing some margarita recipes. Whether you choose to have them frozen or on the rocks, these recipes are going to be a crowd-pleaser. What are you waiting for?! Get to shaking!

Cazadores Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. Tequila Cazadores Blanco
  • ½ oz. Premium Triple Sec
  • ½ Agave Nectar
  • 1 oz. Lime

Preparation: 

  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice combine all the ingredients, shake and serve over the rocks in glass.

Garnish: with lime and salt optional.

JAJA Hibiscus High Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. JAJA Añejo
  • 2 oz. hibiscus iced tea
  • Sparkling water
  • Blood orange (for garnish)

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a highball glass over ice.
  2. Garnish with a blood orange wheel.

Espolòn Reposado Spicy Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Espolòn Reposado
  • 15 ml of Ancho Reyes Verde
  • 30 ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 10 ml agave syrup (depending on sweetness)

Garnish:

  • Sea salt crust rim (half rim is a good option)
  • Lime peel or wedge

Preparation:

  1. Shake ingredients with plenty of ice, double strain in a in a coupette.
  2. Garnish with lime peel/wedge. 
  3. Premium coupette (or rock as an alternative “on the rocks”) 

The Dano-Rita 

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Dano’s Pineapple & Jalapeno Tequila 
  • 1 oz Cointreau  
  • 1 oz Lime Juice 

Preparation:

  1. Shake all ingredients and pour over ice into a highball or rocks glass.
  2. Garnish rim of glass with Tajin sugar/salt mix 

Marg IZO Pastor

Ingredients:

  • Marg IZO Pastor
  • 1.5oz IZO Mezcal
  • .5oz Ancho Reyes
  • 1oz Lime
  • .75oz Pastor Syrup*

Preparation:

*Pastor Syrup – Blend 1 cup agave nectar, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup pineapple juice, 5 cilantro sprigs, 5 Thai basil sprigs, 5 parsley sprigs, 5 grams black cracked pepper, 1/2 de-seeded jalapeño.

  1. In a covered pot, bring mixture to a low simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain solids and let cool.
  3. Once cool, bottle and refrigerate.
  4. Syrup will last for 2 weeks.
  5. To fortify add 2oz of your favorite tequila to extend shelf life to 1 month. 

1800 Cucumber Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. 1800 Blanco
  • ¾ oz. Triple Sec
  • ½ oz. cucumber juice
  • ¾ oz. lime juice
  • Pinch of salt 

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients (and pinch of salt) into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  3. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon on a pick.

JAJA Watermelon Lime Mashup Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. JAJA Blanco
  • 2 oz. Limeade
  • Spiked seltzer
  • Watermelon (for garnish)

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a highball glass over ice. 
  2. Garnish with a watermelon wedge and a salted rim. 

Espolòn Blanco Spicy Margarita

  Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Espolòn Blanco 
  • 15 ml of Ancho Reyes Verde 
  • 30 ml Fresh Lime Juice 
  • 10 ml agave syrup (depending on sweetness) 

Garnish 

  •  Sea salt crust rim (half rim is a good option) 
  •  Lime peel or wedge 

Preparation:

PATRÓN St-Rita

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz St~Germain 
  • 1 ½ oz PATRÓN Silver
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice 

Preparation:

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker and shake 
  2. Pour over ice in a rocks glass 

Tres Agaves: Fresh Margarita with Black Salt Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Tres Agaves Organic 100% de Agave Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz Tres Agaves Cocktail Ready Organic Agave Nectar
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime

Preparation:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and add black salt around the rim.

Pure Joia Cocktail 

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Cazadores Reposado Tequila
  • 1 oz Ancho Reyes
  • ¾ oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple Syrup
  • Mezcal float
  • Tajin for rim
  • Grilled fresh pineapple for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together
  2. Add Tajin on rim of glassware and garnish with grilled pineapple

Piña Gardenrita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz PATRÓN Reposado 
  • .5 oz orgeat 
  • .75 oz lime juice 
  • .5 oz St~Germain
  • .75 oz charred pineapple juice 
  • 7-8 leaves of Pineapple mint
  • Pinch of salt 

Preparation:

  • Shake all ingredients with cubed ice quickly 4-5 seconds
  • Fine strain over crushed ice in rocks or collins glass
  • Garnish with large sprig of pineapple mint and lemon verbena, wedge of charred pineapple if desired

Charred Pineapple Instructions:

  • Cut whole pineapple into spears, omitting the tough center piece
  • Grill on open flame or in grill pan for 5 minutes, flip or rotate and char opposite side for 5 minutes
  • Remove from heat, blend and strain

Cranberry Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.75 oz. Dano’s Tequila Blanco.
  • .25 oz. Agave syrup.
  • .5 oz. Cranberry spice syrup **
  • 1 oz Lime juice.
  • 1 orange peel slice.
  • Black salt 
  • Cranberries 
  • Lime wheel

Preparation:

  1. Shake all ingredients together 
  2. Garnish with black salt rim, cranberries and a lime wheel.

**Cranberry Spice Syrup**

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar.
  • 1 Cup water.
  • half cup cranberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick.
  • 3 cloves.
  • 6 allspice.

Instructions: 

  1. Heat the water to 80 Cº, brew the spices first until you get a peasant aroma of spices.
  2. Add cranberries and smash them in the water to get all the juices
  3. Add sugar to dissolve and strain
  4. Keep refrigerated.

Yuzo Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz of Hornitos
  • 0.5 oz peach schnapps 
  • 0.5 oz ginger liqueur 
  • 0.5oz yuzu juice

Preparation:

  1. Shake and pour over ice in a rocks glass.
  2. Garnish with a spicy salt rim and flower

Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ part Tequila Cazadores Blanco
  • ½ part Premium Triple Sec
  • ½ part Agave Nectar
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 Slice of Jalapeño

Preparation: 

  1. In a cocktail shaker with ice combine all the ingredients, shake and serve over the rocks in glass.

Garnish: with lime, jalapeño slice and salt optional

Mezcal Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2oz. Dos Hombres Mezcal
  • .50oz. Agave sweetener (optional)
  • .75oz. Fresh lime juice
  • 1oz. Cointreau

Preparation:

  1. Add all ingredients into a mixing tin with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a large rocks glass. 

Ilegal Mezcal Passionfruit Marg

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Ilegal Joven
  • .75 oz agave
  • .75 oz lime
  • .75 oz fresh passionfruit syrup

Preparation:

  1. Add ice and shake.
  2. Pour into rocks glass with homemade tajin rim

Tanteo Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Tanteo Jalapeño
  • 1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Agave Nectar

Preparation:

  1. Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Daisy Bates Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz pH Pineapple Rosemary Shrub
  • ¾ oz pH Herbalicious Syrup
  • 1oz fresh lime juice

Preparation:

  1. Shake or stir
  2. Strain into a glass over ice, rimmed with rosemary salt
  3. Enjoy!

Hornitos Spicy Cucumber Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 3 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila
  • ½  part DeKuyper Triple Sec Liqueur
  • 1 part Lemon juice
  • 1 part Lime juice
  • 1 part Agave Nectar (Optional)
  • 1 Mini Cucumber
  • 1 Jalapeno

Preparation:

  1. Muddle 1-2 thin slices of jalapeño pepper in the bottom of a cocktail shaker with the lime, lemon and optional agave nectar juices.
  2. Add the Tequila, Triple Sec and a handful of ice.
  3. Shake and strain into a margarita glass over ice.
  4. Garnish with thinly sliced cucumbers, and Jalapeño slices (optional for spice).
