Celebra the espíritu of independence with this refreshingly easy take on the Paloma
There is no tighter bond then that of watchin un partido de fútbol and celebrating with una gran bebida. Specifically one that uses a premium tequila like Gran Centenario. When many think about making a cool and refrescante Mexican cocktail, they think about the Margarita (who doesn’t love one?). But, today the focus is on another equally enticing and [sinfully] delicious cocktail — the Paloma. Like many things in life, the origins for this colorful drink are somewhat muddled (pardon the pun), Tales of The Cocktail explains, but the drink is no less worthy of praise.
The Paloma, which boasts a rather simple recipe, is typically made with tequila, lime, and grapefruit (via Esquire). The end result is something that is sublime and truly vibrant, like Mexico herself. The Paloma is the perfect celebratory cocktail whether you are celebrating a birthday or a winning a fútbol match against an opposing team. Gran Centenario’s Paloma Tricolor is the quintessential drink for literally any moment in life, so much so, that it is the Mexican National Soccer Team’s official drink. Check out the recipe for this golaso of a cocktail!
P.S. don’t forget to drink responsibly!
