Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are Engaged
Wedding bells might soon be ringing for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. On Saturday, March 9, the former MLB player took to Instagram to share a photo with his 2.3 million followers of Lopez’s hand rocking a massive ring. “She said yes,” A-Rod wrote, alongside a heart emoji. Of course, the mother-of-two also couldn’t contain her excitement and shared the same photo on her social platform.
The engagement came hours after the Dominican ball player shared a sweet message on Instagram Stories about soulmates:
“A soulmate isn’t someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself. A soulmate is someone who loves you with so much conviction, and so much heart, that it is nearly impossible to doubt just how capable you are of becoming exactly who you have always wanted to be,” the message read.
During an appearance at The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in 2017, the Bronx-beauty opened up about the details of how the two met. “I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him as he passed by,” the singer told the host. “Afterwards, I went outside, and for some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder.”
Lopez and Rodriguez made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala and have been inseparable ever since. Their union extended past themselves and it quickly became clear the couple wasn’t shy about showing the world their love, and how they work together to become the perfect blended familia.
Lopez shares twins, Max and Emme, with her ex-hubby and Latin superstar Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, the third baseman has two daughters, Natasha and Ella, with ex-wife Cynthia Curtis. While merging two families can be challenging, la Puertorriqueña ensures there is nothing but love between everyone.
“I was so loving to his kids and he was so loving and accepting of mine, and they embraced each other right away. [It was] ‘I get a new bonus brother and sisters to hang out with all the time and it’s nice,'” she told People.
This will be Lopez’s fourth marriage and second for the Dominican heartthrob. The 49-year-old tied the knot with Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and, of course, Marc Anthony — who she was married to for a decade before calling it quits in 2014.
