Demi Lovato’s Mother Reveals Singer Is 90 Days Sober
Demi Lovato‘s mother, Dianna De La Garza, reveals the ‘Skyscraper’ singer is 90 days sober. In an interview on Maria Menounos’ Sirius XM podcast, De La Garza talks about her daughter’s recent milestone.
“Yes, she has 90 days,” she said. “And I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it’s work.”
De La Garza added, “She’s working really hard on her sobriety and we’re all so incredibly proud of her. It’s been crazy for our family. It’s been a lot.”

Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on July 24 after authorities responded a house call at her Hollywood Hills home. While authorities did not give out much information on the incident, sources did confirm the star was give Narcan to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Similar to an EpiPen that treats someone in anaphylactic shock, Narcan is an emergency nasal spray that is administrated when there is a narcotic overdose.
The singer has been really candid about her struggles with an addiction to cocaine and alcohol in the past. Back in June, the star released a new single called “Sober,” in which she revealed her recent relapse. “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sings. “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”
The song came as a shock to many as March marked Lovato’s sixth year of sobriety. The 25-year-old shared the milestone with fans, tweeting, “Just officially turned 6 years sober. So grateful for another year of joy, health and happiness. It IS possible.”

In 2010, the “Sorry, Not Sorry” singer entered treatment, where she was treated for bipolar disorder, bulimia, self-harm and addiction. Lovato relapsed following her released from the treatment center and then entered a sober living facility. Now, the star is once again heading to rehab following the relapse and overdose that has left her hospitalized.
