‘Orange Is the New Black’ Actress Jackie Cruz is the Face of Kat Von D’s Latest Mascara
For years, Kat Von D Beauty has helped makeup enthusiasts take their cat-eye to the next level with the cult-favorite Tattoo Liner. Now, the beauty brand wants to also take your lashes to new heights with their Go Big Or Go Home Mascara and they’ve teamed up with Orange Is the New Black‘s Jackie Cruz to make it happen.
Formulated with a blend of olive and sunflower oil, this vegan and cruelty-free mascara adds instant volume with just one swipe. The fluff brush applicator separates, lifts, and curls each lash for a clump-free look.
To celebrate their new eye product, the beauty company enlisted the help of latina star Jackie Cruz to be the face (and in this case eyes) of their latest launch. In a recent interview with HelloGiggles, la
“I said, one day, I’m gonna get a campaign with Kat Von D Beauty, and they would laugh at me, but I was like, watch,” she said. “It’s a dream come true because it’s something that I’ve wanted for so long, and doing it with Kat Von D Beauty just seems so right for me just because of who [Kat] is as a person. Her vibe, her style, her attitude, her inclusion, all that stuff.”
The singer shared the exciting news with her 1.5 million followers on Instagram with a photo of the campaign, alongside a quote inspiring others to dream big.
“There is power in the spoken word,” she wrote. “I dreamed of this day and put it out there in the world, speaking it into existence. I’m so grateful for this new opportunity to show the world that, with dedication, hard work, and faith, anything is possible.”
Although the Go Big Or Go Home Mascara isn’t available until April 19 (on both Kat Von D’s website and Sephora!), we’re still patiently counting down the days and enjoying Cruz’s latest music video, “Melly 16” in the meanwhile.
