13 cocktails to serve on Labor Day weekend

Fall is upon us and summer is almost over! That’s why Labor Day couldn’t be a better time to celebrate the last warm days of the year. Labor Day, the unofficial start of the autumn season, is a day for relaxing with friends and family and savoring your favorite summer beverages. Treat yourself to a couple of drinks for everything you accomplish during the workweek. Pour, mix, and enjoy our favorite end of summer drinks.

Hornitos Tequila Zarza

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Hornitos Reposado Tequila
  • 1-part Simple Syrup
  • 1-part Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Blackberries
  • Float: DeKuyper Creme de Cassis Liqueur

Preparation:

  1. Combine all ingredients, excluding liqueur.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain and serve over crushed ice in a rocks glass.
  4. Float liqueur on top.
  5. Garnish with fresh blackberries.

Bold + Mint Tea

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz Brooklyn Tea Hibiscus tea infused Ecco Domani Limited-Edition Label Designed by Jeremy Scott
  • .5 oz simple syrup 
  • .75 oz lime juice
  • Fresh Mint 
  • Garnish: Lime wheels along the inside of the glass

Preparation:

  1. In a glass, add one tea bag with 4 oz of Ecco Domani wine.
  2. Allot to sit for 15 minutes.
  3. In a highball glass or another glass of your choosing, add ice and lay out the lime wheels alongside the inside of the wall of the glass (being held in place with the ice), add the simple syrup and lime juice into the infusion after 15 minutes.
  4. Stir and pour over the highball glass.
  5. Garnish with fresh mint on top.

The Limoncello Spritz

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz dry white wine
  • 3 oz Q Spectacular Tonic Water
  • 1 oz Limoncello
  • Lemon Wheel
  • Mint Sprig

Preparation:

  1. Build drink in large wine glass over ice.
  2. Garnish with lemon wheel and mint sprig.

Horse’s Neck

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. High West Double Rye!
  • .25 oz. fresh ginger juice
  • .25 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 oz. light ginger beer
  • Lemon twist garnish 

Preparation:

  1. Fill an Old Fashioned glass with chip ice.
  2. Pour ingredients into Old Fashioned Glass and garnish with a lemon twist. 

Pinnacle Light & Ripe Apricot Honeysuckle Green Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 parts Pinnacle Apricot Honeysuckle 
  • 3 parts Unsweetened Green Tea
  • .25 oz (½ Tbsp) Honey
  • 2 Peach slices
  • Soda Water

Preparation: 

  1. In a highball cocktail glass, gently muddle peach slices and honey.
  2. Add Pinnacle Light & Ripe Apricot Honeysuckle, green tea and ice.
  3. Stir to combine.
  4. Top with soda water and garnish with additional peach or apricot slices.

Vera Wang 72 PARTY Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Lillet Blanc
  • 1 oz Vera Wang X Chopin Vodka
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz agave

Preparation:

  1. Shake and pour into a chilled cocktail glass, royale with Vera Wang PARTY, garnish with lemon twist

Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz your favorite tequila
  • 5 oz Q Sparkling Grapefruit
  • Lime

Preparation:

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice and add your choice of tequila.
  2. Squeeze in a lime wedge and pour in Q Sparkling Grapefruit.
  3. Gently stir and garnish with a lime wedge or wheel. Enjoy!

Electric Cosmopolitan 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 fl oz Three Spirit Livener
  • 2 fl oz cranberry juice
  • 2 barspoons lime juice
  • 1/2 barspoon Seville orange marmalade

Preparation: 

  1. Add all ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker or mason jar and shake hard.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with candied cranberries and a wheel of dried orange. Fresh orange also works. 

Sparkling Mangga at Pinya

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz 100% blue agave tequila
  • 1.5 oz fresh pineapple juice
  • Top off with Volley Tropical Mango Spiked Seltzer (2.5 oz)
  • Fresh mint sprig (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Pour the pineapple juice and tequila into a shaker with ice, shake well until a little foam forms, and pour into a clean Collins glass.
  2. Next, fill a glass with fresh ice.
  3. Gently flip the can to mix ingredients (real juice settles!) and top off the drink with Volley Tropical Mango to fill the glass.
  4. Stir lightly and enjoy.
  5. If you like, garnish with a fresh mint sprig. 

Pomegranate Citrus Avaline Rosé Spritz

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. pomegranate juice (if not pressing fresh, look for one with low sugar)
  • 1-2 grapefruits, thinly sliced
  • 1-2 blood oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 c. kumquats, sliced in half (optional)
  • 1 bottle of Avaline Rosé
  • Sparkling water (to taste)

Preparation: 

  1. Combine pomegranate juice, grapefruit, blood oranges, kumquat slices, and Avaline Rosé in a large pitcher.
  2. When ready to serve, top with sparkling water (to taste), a slice of grapefruit, and a couple kumquat halves. 

Koji Collins

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Rendezvous Rye 
  • 0.5 oz Pineapple Rum
  • 0.25 oz Amaro Montenegro
  • 0.75 oz Miso Syrup
  • 0.75 oz Lime Juice 
  • Bar Spoon Yuzu
  • Mint sprig & Chinese 5 Spice Garnish

Preparation:

  1. Add all ingredients except soda water to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  2. Double strain into a Collins glass with ice and top with soda water.
  3. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Averna Limonata

Ingredients:

  • 2 Parts Averna
  • 1 Part Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Part Simple Syrup
  • Club Soda

Preparation:

  1. Serve swizzle style with crushed ice; garnish with seasonal herbs (mint, rosemary, or sage).
  2. Top with soda water 

On The Rocks The Cosmopolitan

Preparation:

  1.  Simply pour over ice and enjoy!
