With less than two weeks before 2019’s arrival, our Instagram feeds have been graced by the presence of Selena Gomez.

The Latina announced back in September 2018 she would be going on a social media break. “As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us,” she wrote in an edited Instagram caption. “I am equally grateful be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.”

Gomez was not afraid to admit that even she, the most-followed person on Instagram, has had her share of negative comments. Since then, we’ve all been left to wonder what she’s been up to, the state of her mental health, and hoping that she would return soon. 

On December 18, we caught a glimpse of the Disney alum thanks to her best friend, Connar Franklin, who posted two photos of the singer having a good time with friends. Gomez is seen sporting an all-black outfit, keeping her warm while she goes snow tubing. She’s all smiles and laughs as she poses for multiple photos.

Of course, her fans rushed to leave loving messages and words of encouragement. “Tell Selena we love her so, so, so much, to the moon and back. May God bless her with health and love!” a fan wrote. “Selena is glowing omg,” another commented.

It’s fair to say that many are happy to see the Mexican-American belleza doing so well. Taking a step away from social media is a brave act, especially when it’s an important part of your career. Whether this marks the beginning of the Latina’s return to social media or not, we respect whatever pace she decides to take. Selenators aren’t going anywhere.
